A Journey Into My Life

Pot Smoking - Legalize

Yep, this blog will be about "Marijuana"! The evil drug that makes the "OJ Simpsons" of this world tick.. lol.

Actually, this will be a very serious blog about it. I'll tell more here then I ever have.

When I was young, I smoked alot of pot. Daily for nearly 7 years. I always had pot, I always had dealers. Believe or not, I even got good grades (Straight A's in Electronics - trade school). I was always a "bright" person, but I have always liked to party (maybe too much really). I always had the long hair, and looked like a burnout.

It's hard to explain why, but the people close to me, how I acted.. and my job later.. everything brought me to meet dealers. I am talking "Big ones". I knew some of the biggest around. I have been in "pot fields" as big as corn fields. Hell, when I moved to Florida, maybe 10 people I didn't know asked me if I wanted to "burn one" (first week)... they was trying to meet a connection (cause I look like I do).. but no, I declined.

Before I go on, today I don't smoke Marijuana. I really haven't for 20 years. If I did, I couldn't write this blog. If I did.. they'd be looking into me. Now, if they do,, so what. I won't have anything. In the past 20 years, I have took 2 hits of a joint at a party (now and then)... no big deal.. but I am not a pot smoker. mainly because it bothers my breathing, which is the reason I quit.

I do meet alot of people. I set up all over with my work. Biker events, alot of places. So getting it would be no big deal.. I just don't. And I have nothing against anyone who does smoke pot.

I never really was a "dealer". It was so different back in the 80's. I had all the "good pot". I had HAWAII Kona (Know anything about that Panthur?.. lol), Columbian, Jamacian, most everything really. It was all for personal use. But that means, when my buddies came over we smoked it up. I didn't deal pot, we shared. When I went to their places, they did the same.

I did grow pot awhile. Nothing really bigtime. Remember again, this was like 20 years ago.

---------------------------------------------------------

That was the background of my life.. so now I say what I think..

Many are against the "legalization" of Marijuanna. I am not!

Many say, it's a "gateway drug", it leads people to bigger things.

It probably does but in a different way then most think. Marijuanna is illegal (However in Michigan it was just passed, it's legal for medicinal purposes). Since pot is illegal, people who want it have to look for it (It's not in Walmart). They come in contact with people that are more inclined to be "criminals".. afterall, they do sell pot illegal. That means, they usually sell "hard drugs too" (not all, but alot do). So making Marijuanna a crime (in my opinion) actually leads people to the harder drugs.

Like I said, I don't smoke pot. But I do travel all over the USA. I can promise.. I can get "pot" quicker anywhere (if I wanted), then I could get to a bar to legally buy a beer. Keeping Marijuana illegal just drives up the price. Keeping Marijuanna illegal gets ALOT of people "shot" because the high dollar is involved. The government gets no "taxes" on pot sales, and I am certain more people smoke pot then even drink. And ASK anyone of them... what is the "Bigger evil?" Budweiser or Pot? They will say Budweiser.. and I agree.. and I am a Bud drinking man..

Just something for ya all to think about...
Gary :)

One sure way to get most people to quit smoking marijuana would be for the government to make it legal, then triple the price with taxes - like they do with cigarettes, and at $100 per mini-joint; who could afford to recreationally consume a relatively harmless product?????

Just thinking here... one of these days, I will be posting some pictures from my "major" partying days. I have hundreds! Just right now, they are in a box, stored at my (soon to be) ex sister and law. Shortly after Christmas, we will be bringing all my boxes here. I'll be scanning some and posting.

I agree with you. Legalize it and collect the taxes. It will help with the legalization of hemp(the less potent cousin of weed.) Hemp can be made into clothing, paper, fuel, etc. I smoked weed once upon a time but outgrew that phase. BTW...weed is less addictive than sugar. It doesn't even rate in the top ten addictions. Hell the top three addictive substances are the most legal: Nicotine, caffeine, and alcohol.

This is an interesting article Gary. Personally, I think they should just legalize pot. It doesn't seem to "hurt" anyone more than drinking does. I smoked pot twice in my whole life (seriously) back in my late teens, didn't care for it and have never done it since. (an ex boyfriend was experimenting and he's long gone from my life)
I don't know anyone who smokes pot and it seems impossible for me to believe that more people smoke pot than drink. I couldn't say for sure, and am not disagreeing with you... I just don't see it in my lifestyle and that of my friends and family. I wonder if legalizing it would lower crime a bit?? Thought provoking hmmmmmmm

Measure the PCP like alcohol percentage, and tax accordingly. Fat Boy Doobie tax $10, skinny minnie tax $2.00, why not, it is how our government "works?"

yeah... I can see the reasoning for both sides but I see what you are saying.
