Everything Works

We came back to San Francisco on December 25th, just in time for brunch with kids and grand kids. It was worth the 10 hour flight to be together with our family on Christmas.
We got to the airport early and I decided I wanted to eat something. Tom ordered a bowl of noodles, which is what most of people were eating. I decided to go for the tuna sandwich. What was I thinking, tuna at the Shanghai airport? It had probably been sitting around for a year.
Sure enough, before the plane even took off, I was violently ill and continued to be so for 6 days.
Today,is the first day I am able to eat again. The upside is that I did not gain any weight this holiday. Although I don't recommend this method to anyone. I still don't feel very strong.

It is wonderful to be able to sit up and write a blog. Most of the time I am not able to get on to MyBloggers from China. One of the things we love about coming home is that everything works. Web sites, polite traffic, people standing in line, television news. Even though at times the news is overwhelming.
This year things seem quieter in San Francisco, less traffic, fewer people in the stores. Could it be the economy?

This trip is flying by, Tom is going back to Shanghai tomorrow. I am taking grand daughter #2 to Costa Rico for a few days before heading back to Shanghai.

Wishing you a Happy New Year, with emphasis on the Happy and remember to count your blessings.

How awful (to be sick)! Usually food poisoning lasts only 12 to 24 hours. It may have been the flu. Anyway, I'm glad you're back on your feet--or in the air, whatever!

How sad that you got sick. This was as you were leaving China? Do you mean that you arrived feeling sick after a 10 hour flight? What a terrible way to start your holidays! Hope you enjoy Costa Rica. Happy New Year!

I appreciate the way you are able to put a positive spin on things, but at least you're feeling better now. The local China Buffet was open all day Christmas with a dinner menu, so I don't suppose Christmas is a big deal over there. Have a happy New Year and a good time in Costa Rica!
