Week-ends

If you are a part of the work force you will totally understand the next sentence. Saturday and Sunday go by faster than Monday through Friday.
This past week-end was a perfect example. Made all kinds of plans to clean out the office at home, get my eyebrows waxed, read a book or at least start one.
Saturday we went to the gym, afterwards wewent for a pedicure, came home totally relaxed because the pedicure included a 1/2 hour massage. Started that book, dozed off. Woke up around 6:00 read some more and jumped in the shower to meet friends for dinner at 8:00. Well that was one day gone.
We checked out a new restaurant, the first good Mexican restaurant in Shanghai. They had mango margaritas.
It was a true cross cultural exchange watching the chef train the young Chinese kids in Mexican food.
The desserts plate licking good. While at dinner I remembered that I had to bake a cake for a Sunday gathering. I realized that I did not have sour cream at home. Sour cream is not easy to get in Shanghai as it is an imported product (thank god!) When the owner came to introduce himself and asked us if we needed anything, I don't think he was prepared to hear "yes 3 tablespoons of sour cream" He graciously organized it for me in small to go containers.
Sunday morning got up at 7:00 and baked a fantastic carmelized walnut banana cake. Made better by the sour cream I am sure. Anyway it was a big hit at the gathering.
11:00 am went to meet a friend for brunch that lasted till 1:00 and through several Bloody Mary's. I am not normally a drinker but everything seemed so good!
2:00 went to a gathering for all women. We all had to bring a talent and it was amazing to have women recite the poems they wrote, show a painting they made, one person read a chapter out of a book she wrote.
My talent was the cake and it was well received. The event was over around 7:00.
I came home made a cream of mushroom soup with porcini mushrooms and fell asleep before eating it.
The next thing I know it is Monday morning, how did that happen?

I did sign up for boot camp, which will start next Saturday. 12 sessions of torture to get in shape for the holidays.
Have a great Monday

Sometimes I am glad that you live half-way across the globe. If you lived anywhere near me, I would, no doubt, weigh over 200 pounds!

I had mango margaritas for the first time in Cozumel, Mexico this year! They are FANTASTIC!!!!!!!
If I had to choose between a woman whose talent is writing poetry or baking the cake that you describe here, there would be no hesitation at all. Don't get me wrong, poetry is fine, but it doesn't satisfy my voracious sweet tooth!
