Hi Tim,
This is a quick note to update you on my plumbing situation. Over the weekend I tried to clear a clog in the s-trap under the bathroom sink. I have a snake but it wouldn't go all the way through, so I decided to unscrew the pieces. Most of the pipes are pvc, but the tail piece is metal. That pipe broke about half-way between the base of the sink and the first pvc part.
I tried to disconnect the tail pipe, but the whole sink started to rotate around the drain pipe, even though the faucet pipes are still connected.
Did I mention that I HATE doing plumbing projects myself?
I saw some tail pipe/pieces that slip over the existing metal ones and tighten with a compression fitting at Meijer's (the local grocery/clothing/gardening/home improvement/jewelry/sporting goods/DIY repair/ etc. store.)
Could I use one of those as a temporary fix without causing more trouble later when it really gets fixed? PVC glue is the big no-no, right?
When do you think you would have time to look at the situation? I still need that faucet to be replaced and after the scalding incident, I would like to replace the handle on the faucet in the shower.
Thanks,
Cat
