Here is Part 2

Sorry, I posted part 3 twice...so here is part 2

It was the second week of February, I had one party in my diary...it was Wednesday night, I was feeling sick as a dog...the pain killers I took did not help my migraine...the party was in Joondalup...a suburb 45 minutes away....and it took every ounce of energy to get on the road to do the party.
Allan (bless his heart) even offered to do the party for me....lol.....that would have been hilarious....these were total strangers..the hostess was a booking I made from another party, and I had never met her before then.
Allan had done a couple of demonstrations for me, but only with his sister and his mom who booked parties to help me out when I needed to make my monthly tally to qualify for this trip. He did very well by the way, he was hilarious and I think the comedy was what generated the sales.
I have digressed again....sorry.
When I got to this young lady's house in Joondalup, I was staggered at the preparations she had made for her Tupperware party. I didnt know it, but she was a Tupperware freak. Her pantry was the most beautifully set up Tupperware pantry I had ever seen. She had at least two big pantry sets all stacked neatly, with labels and stacked in order...like all the pasta containers on one shelf...the flour and baking stuff in containers on another shelf, the cereals....who takes the trouble to decant cereals out of their boxes to place them in Tupperware?  Well this lady did...and it was beautiful.
I was starting to feel much better already. Her guests started arriving and I could see that this party was going to start dead on time. She helped me set up my display, she distributed the catalogues and order forms as her friends arrived....and they kept coming...by 7pm there were 23 ladies there altogether. The average for a good size party is around 10 - 12.
She had a gift goal she wanted to achieve....she knew she needed X amount in sales and at least two party bookings to get the gift and she did her homework. A Tupperware demonstrator's dream!!! She had already talked two of her girlfriends into booking a party....so if I worked on another two at the party, that would be four bookings and she would get the ultimate gift.
These were ladies in their mid to late 20's...early thirties...obviously setting up their relatively new kitchens...in probably their first new homes...recently married...and with a few dollars to spend. It was better than the pain killers....my migraine just eased away....this was going to be an easy night. Most of them knew the catalogues back to front and knew exactly what they were going to order. (I sent her a party pack two weeks before, with catalogues and little incentive gifts to give to her friends and order forms).
Then I did something I had never done before...I didnt even realize I was going to do it....it just happened in an instant. I asked her if she would like to do the demonstration and I would be one of her guests. She was thrilled to death!!  She'd been to so many Tupperware parties but this is the first time she was actually asked to do the demonstration herself.
I sat down and left her to it....and I have to tell you, my new recruits would have been shamed!!
Finally, when she finished her "demonstration"...everyone clapped and we were all very impressed.
I got up and did my recruiting spiel and told the ladies what a great job this is....you get a brand new car, you get incentive trips like the one to Disneyland, you get to go to Manager's conventions, party for a living, work your own hours, be your own boss...and so on and so on.
No takers!!!
Oh well, I thought it didnt matter....I had already given up on the trip anyway.
She sold almost $1200.00 worth of Tupperware that night....big pantry sets...cookware...and the new products which were released in Bali.
I managed to get another three ladies to book a party.....so she had five party bookings altogether. This was a good night for me!!
After everyone left...she and I sat at her kitchen table to work out her gifts and what she was entitled to get on top of what she'd already achieved.
Then, just out of the blue, I asked her....why wouldnt she want to be a demonstrator, she clearly loves Tupperware...and as a demonstrator you get your Tupperware products at 33% discount. Well, her eyes bugged out.....she didnt know we get 33% discount....so she asked me what she had to do.
I went into the whole thing with her right there at her kitchen table, and I told her that if she wanted to join, I would convert her party into one of her own...and the other five that were booked, she would do herself.
In essence, I was handing her that whole party...including what I would have made from it and the party bookings....and she had six parties to get started with.
She asked if she could think about it....and she'd phone me the next day and let me know. She wanted to talk to her husband about it first.
So I left....and the 45 minutes drive home, I envisioned myself on Magic Mountain in Disneyland. It was close to midnight by the time I got home...but I rang my distributor (not my manager) and asked her if there was anything illegal about what I was doing. If I pulled this off, would it count towards the trip.
She was half asleep, but she said she'd see about it first thing in the morning and let me know at the sales meeting that night (Thursday night).
I told her I couldnt wait that long, she had to call me as soon as she found out.
By 9.30am...(she starts work at 8am) she hadnt called...so I phoned her.

To be continued.......DID I MAKE IT?????
