Best Job Final Chapter Part 3

Coming home from such an awesome experience in the US was a mixed bag of emotions. Right up to this point I had been on such a high...achieving the challenge, getting the rewards, meeting hundreds of others who have done the same and more...you just never want it to end.
But end it did...the trip back to Australia was sombre...many longing to reunite with their husbands and children and yet at the same time feeling it was not enough.
I went through all these emotions but ultimately very grateful for such as a wonderful experience.
The trip home to Perth was long, arduous and downright exhausting. From San Francisco we flew back to LA..and straight to international departure  for the long haul flight back to Sydney Australia.
No overnight stop-overs, it was continuous.....from Sydney it was straight to the domestic terminal for the 4 hour flight back to Perth. I did knock myself out with valium for the flight from LA to Sydney, but this time I only took one instead of two.
At Perth Airport we were met by Linda (our Distributor) and a few Managers who didnt make the challenge...and they met us with bunches of flowers and a big welcome home banner.
Allan, along with other husbands and children were also there and it was a wonderful re-union. But I was totally exhausted, still groggy from the valium, air-sick, hungry at the same time...but felt too sick to eat anything...and I just wanted to go straight home and crawl into my very own bed and sleep for the next two or three days.
Jet-lag is something that you have to experience to believe. Apparently it affects some more than others. It had a seriously bad effect on me. I was so sick, I couldnt get out of bed for almost a week. I could barely make it to the bathroom....I couldnt shower...I couldnt eat...all I did was sleep.
Allan was trying very hard to get me to eat and was cooking up pots of soup, if I didnt eat that particular soup, he'd cook a different one..anything to get me to put something in my stomach. And I slept through it all.
At one stage, he was so worried about me, he called a doctor for a house-call, but I dont even remember the doctor coming over.
By Friday night of that week (5 days later) I still hadnt eaten, showered and maybe once or twice only..been to the bathroom...he decided to call an ambulance and take me to the hospital.
He thought I might have picked up a bug somewhere, or eaten something and had food poisoning or God only knows what he thought, but he was desperate by this stage.
The other Managers who'd been on the trip were all fine, they kept calling him and asking about me..and they suggested I needed emergency care at the hospital, so he called the ambulance.
I spent the night in hospital, they took blood tests, urine samples, monitored my heart, pulse and temp....but everything was normal. I slept through most of it.
The next day he came for a visit, but the doctors all agreed there was nothing wrong with me...and suggested he take me home and just make sure I get enough fluids so I dont de-hydrate, and rest is all I needed.
It took another week before I returned to normal and went back to my work. I was lucky to have baby managers of my own......my own promote-outs.....who took care of the other girls in my team while I was laid up.
I went to my doctor for a check up and everything was fine. Was that jet-lag??...he couldnt say.

To be continued....
