The Sky is Falling!

I think I just saw the Little Red Hen running across my yard yelling... "THE SKY IS FALLING!" Geez... lots of bad news today. We are all sitting on the edge of our chairs wondering what is going to happen with the economy. Personally, I'm wishing I would have planted a garden to get me through the winter and bought a few laying hens and at least one pig... for bacon.

I think JR is ready to do something drastic like set fire to the truck as we can't afford the price of fuel anymore. And as for our fall calf crop... we might as well put out a sign that says "free beef." The cattle market is terrible, but then most people wouldn't realize that fact because the prices at the meat market are outrageous.

I'm really not ready to panic, yet. I'm an optimist who figures it will all come out in the wash and life will go on. Soooo.... I'll just sit here and watch that old hen run around in circles in a panic and after awhile, I'll go out and wring her neck and throw her in a cookin' pot with some peas and carrots.

its not a good situation, no matter how ya slice it, is it? Saw on the news where oil prices per barrel are below $100. Gas prices are still high though, the bastids. We need to get our vote "broom" and sweep our houses of gub'ment clean.

This situation with gasoline has GOT to change...and so have food prices. Anybody who votes for McCain is just asking for four more years of horrible prices.

Yes Annie very uncertain times for sure. We seeing the harvest of seeds that were sown starting in the mid-90's and the reaping is not beneficial to us at all.

I think we will definitely recover, but it is going to be a bit of a bumpy road along the way. It could have been smoother, though.
