Winter Knitting Projects

We are finally getting some seasonal weather. It might rain some overnight, and the high mountains might get several inches of snow.

I have been knitting mittens and hats in sizes for small children. I do two mittens at a time on one needle so all the stitches match. This yarn has very random pattern, so sometimes it's hard to work the colors so a couple of mittens looks like a pair.

You will be keeping some little ones warm and snug. How great is that.

I'm sorry I don't have access to little kids to get an idea of how small their little hands are.

I tried to knit several times to no avail. I only made very long, thin pieces that got so tight I couldn't get the needle in any more. I was good at crocheting granny squares though. Made vests and afghans.

I can't crochet worth a darn. When I tried Granny squares it ended up like little hats - rounded.

That cranberry red is just my color!

It's more of a purple fading into fuchsia. Red would be pretty. I think I have another colorway of that yarn that is supposed to be black fading into red. I'll have to look for it.

If he visited you or me we'd have to bundle him up in coats and hats and mittens.

It's so nice to have a project to work on while watching TV or waiting in the car.

Nice, who are they for? Wish I could knit.

I'm going to find a charity to donate them to. There is a grade school in Las Vegas where the principal has gone beyond caring for the children during school hours - she set up a food bank and clothing exchange.

When should I expect mine??? It is going to be in the 70s this coming week.

The next hot day you'd put them aside and not be able to find them again!

Cute! They look like pairs to me. What are you going to knit for yourself?

I have a mohair sweater that I put aside this summer while waiting for more yarn to come. I keep saying I will pick it up and resume when I get out to Las Vegas for the winter.
