Tornado Pictures

My heart really goes out to all those folks in the southern states who are dealing with the devastation in the wake of the tornados.

Lightning as seen from Vicksburg. This looks so ominous.

An excellent video of the coming tornado and resulting damage from a surveillance camera in Covington County, Mississippi. My apologies if the advertisement runs before you get to the video, but it's a cute ad, so not totally horrible.

Our Mississippi friend susil is always telling us how the trees get broken in these storms. Here is what she is talking about:

I worry about Susil and sympathize with all the people that the horrible
tornadoes caused. One weatherman said it was a once in one hundred year
storm when all the elements that make for severe weather came together.

I hope it's not a 100-year year all over the country.

This summer I'm going to get a backup generator like you have.

looks like Mother Nature is getting even with us for all the disrespect we have shown the earth.
A lot of lives lost--luckily my best friends--in Memphis--escaped any damage but a friend in Mississippi lost 1/2 of his house!

So many people are struggling along as it is, this kind of destruction can be so devastating in more ways than just financially.

So many power outages. It may take weeks to get parts of MS and AL back up and running. Our MyBloggers friend, "ZILLAH," has been out of touch since the storms ran right across her area Wed. night. Worried here.

I hope we hear from her soon.

My dad and his pilot buddies were stranded by ice storms in Tuscaloosa one time. They stocked up on liquor and got drunk while waiting for good flying weather. (small planes not airliners)

I'm so concerned for all the people who have been affected by these awful storms. I'm worried for susil, too. We haven't heard from her since all the storms clobbered Mississippi and the Southeast. Sending prayers....

I've been looking at where the really bad one was in MS, and it's north of her quite a bit, but one never knows.
