Man gets life for sword attack on hiker
An Ontario, Calif., man was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison for attacking a hiker with a Samurai sword and nearly severing his arm.
Wesley Brockway, 27, was convicted last month of attempted murder in the September 2007 attack. His older brother, Eric, was earlier convicted of misdemeanor battery.
Authorities say they attacked an acquaintance, David Gregory, because he painted over graffiti the brothers left on a trail.
This must be why graffiti is considered a gateway crime.
