Grandma

This is my grandmother on my dad's side, not long before she died in 1965.

She was born in Ballston Spa, New York and the family moved to Berthoud, Colorado when she was 3 years old and she lived there all her life.

She graduated from the University of Colorado in 1912. (Back row second from left.)

She had 12 grandchildren.

She was a beautiful young lady. I love the Gibson Girl look and later when
she was a grandmother she looked grandmotherly. So did my grandmothers.
I gave Linda a picture of her grand parents and me this Thursday Bobby
gets the one of my great grandparents. He was a Confederate Vet and a
Texas Ranger. She was a southern belle. I have their wedding picture.
She carried a muff. Bobby is interested in them because of h is law'
enforcement background.

I'll never forget her cooking, and she would never put the milk carton or jelly jar on the table, always used a pitcher and put the jelly in a dish. She made us feel special and very loved when we stayed with her.

I'm sure pictures mean more to those of us who knew the people in them than they do to the generations to come. Not that I don't treasure pictures of my great-grandparents.

I'm so lucky to have boxes and boxes of family pictures and spend a lot of time scanning them for the cousins.

Wonderful photos. The graduation photo shows so many lovely young women. I hope they had good lives.

I have her college year book, so it's not outside the realm of possibility to figure out who they are and use Ancestry.com to learn about their lives after graduation.

She was lovely. I'll bet all 12 loved her very much.

She had a good sense of humor and was active in bridge club and her church. Also a very good cook.
