Early Spring

This time last year the river in front of my house was solidly covered with ice and snow. There were a couple of small holes in the ice when I got here a week ago, and they have steadily grown. I saw a big brown trout in one of the open areas this morning.

We are supposed to get a big storm tomorrow that will slow it down some, but the fishermen will be here before long. They will be pleased.

Speaking of weather, Las Vegas is having some rare rain all day today, and then that storm is coming to Colorado with winds causing blizzard conditions, and then look out midwest and east coast, it's coming your way.

I hope it's not snow by the time it gets here, we just had a little bit of it and that was enough for me! Interesting pics... Love that you post so many!

I don't think this last storm had a lot of energy, and it looks like it's just bringing rain to your area. Seems like the weather is always in the wrong place any more.

So early spring is a good thing? However you photograph it, your river is beautiful.

No, early spring is bad. We need it to stay cold and wet because of the fire danger, but it's just not happening this year or last year.

I am hopeful that it will bring rain. I got three roses in the ground
yesterday and a grape. Rex's has made outstanding holes in the back yard
and I am going to need at least 8 bags of top soil to fill them. I dumped
in three and it didn't do much good. Bad naughty dog!!!

I ordered that raised bed garden thing that Mr. YouKnow is going to have to put together, and then we will need a truck load of top soil to fill it. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it will work out.

Hope you get lots of precipitation.

I always think of you when I look at the weather radar because if we are going to get moisture it usually comes from your area. It's not a sure thing, though, because sometimes the jet stream doesn't dip down this far south.

All our snow finally melted away and then... starting last night and most of today and likely into tomorrow, it's snowing again. I waited for a break this afternoon, walked to the post office, then it came down my whole way back home.

A lot of that storm's energy went to the Four Corners, and up here in the northern part of the state we were just on the edge.

Our weather patterns here are definitely not what they should be.
