Here's how the side yard of the Brown Palace looks post-flood, not much different. It was flooded only slightly, maybe about 8 inches deep and low velocity.
You have to know where to look, but that's Mr. Troutbend up on those rocks. This afternoon we heard there was a wildfire in the area but couldn't see any smoke, so hiked up to a high point to look for it, and still didn't see it. It's not a very big fire, less than five acres, but is a warning of what could come.
