Bucky Beaver is Back

Bucky the beaver is back. We saw him the other night.

There is a wild animal group that champions pests like the beavers so if he starts causing problems, they will try to help us. It doesn't include relocation, more like protecting trees with wire and some kind of device to keep the beaver dams from flooding the property.

Bucky's three nice dams washed away in the flood, and I'm looking forward to seeing how he goes about rebuilding them. This is inevitable.

Nice he is still there and did not relocate to some place where he might do more damage.

Or somewhere that they would shoot him. We admire Bucky's determination.

They are very cute but oh so destructive!!

I hope we can keep him under control. With the loss of trees and plants in the flood, it will be interesting to see how Bucky proceeds through the summer.

Bucky got his engineering degree from the Colorado School of Mines.

Bucky is starting with a blank canvas up the side stream, and we've got our eye on him. This is everyone's chance to design it from the ground up, and will be a race between Bucky and us to see who wins out.

Hurray for Bucky!!!!

I don't know why he left - we've got everything he needs, and more. But I'm glad he did go off up river, because 24/7 Bucky would probably wreak havoc.

OMG! I just realized; I'm Canadian and I've never seen a real, live beaver.

My favorite is when he slaps his tail on the water to send an alarm. I've only heard it a couple of times - sounds like someone dropped a 30 pound boulder into the river from a height.

He's a cool dude. Glad he's back and I hope he doesn't get into trouble

He'll try to make trouble, but we've got our eye on him and hope to catch anything we don't like before it gets too bad.
