The Consumer Electronics Show was here in Las Vegas not long ago, and there have been a lot of news items in the local paper about new gizmos. So, when we saw the headline: "Don't Blame Wayne Hobson if You Can't Find Your Cell Phone" we didn't read the rest of it, figuring the guy had invented some kind of tracking device.
But the other day there was another article about it. Turns out that the way Sprint's cell phone location software works, it comes up showing missing phones being at Wayne's house. Irate people, and even cops, have come knocking on his door looking for stolen cell phones. He doesn't have them.
What's happening is (and this only applies to Sprint phones) the software locates the missing phone inside a 100 foot diameter circle. And Wayne's house is smack in the middle of that circle.
He's got a sign on his door: No Cell Phones Here!
