I found this great website TravelMath
that calculates your driving or flying distance or time, fuel cost of driving, and other interesting facts.
My favorite is the fuel cost of driving because you enter the distance, what gas mileage your car gets, price of gas, and fuel grade. The site calculates your fuel consumption and the cost of the gas for that trip.
For example, it would cost $90.58 one-way for me to drive my Toyota Camry hybrid from Las Vegas to Midwest City, Oklahoma the 1,120 miles to visit our friend elderjane. Driving time would be 16 hours and 18 minutes. It doesn't sound like much, does it? Blink, and I'm there. Not exactly.
I could wait until later this spring and start off from Colorado. Even though I'd be starting out 900 miles east of here, it'd still be 11 hours and 19 minutes driving time. It's the starting out farther north that accounts for some of it.
But for now it's just a dream.
