Road Trip to You Know Where

These people are surely headed for hell, and horrible role models for the kid, to boot. One of them appears to have good organizational skills to do all that bookkeeping - too bad they can't channel those skills to legitimate enterprise. What do you want to bet they are also receiving public assistance?

After this, whenever I see a packed van on the interstate, I'll be giving it a careful look

Crime Trio Made A List, Checked It Twice, Then Robbed Toy Stores Across 3 States

"It appears that Santa's Selfish Helpers; Theresa Lynn Warner, Christopher Frances Dimaio and his Son, a juvenile, made a list and indeed checked it twice also, while robbing toy stores in New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

The three have been arrested for stealing nearly $35,000 dollars worth of toys, and kept a very accurate record of what they took, from what store, its address and when they did it. They even placed two check marks next to stores they robbed twice.

"The occasions to have documented evidence presented to us by the actors are few and far between, but we certainly are appreciative of it," he said. The trio planned to take their haul of plundered toys to flea markets to resell them, police said.

The van they drove was so full, toys were stuffed into the rear from wall to wall, floor to ceiling, even in door pockets. Among he most popular items they were found to have, dolls, baseball cards, video games.

All three have been charged with theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy."

Is it just the particular swag they chose to steal why everyone is so aghast? Hasn't anyone taken a good look at the price of toys today, and the tremendous demand at Xmas for the hottest items? They were just ordinary thieves carrying on their trade. And historically thieves tend to teach their kids the family business...

I think the shock was that it wasn't just the traditional compulsive opportunistic shoplifting done by daft Auntie Ann, these people figured out ahead of time what was going to sell best and very efficiently gathered it up. We'd all like to think shoplifters are not smart enough to be very organized, and maybe they wouldn't involve their children in committing the crime.

Last year here in Las Vegas a woman set herself up as a charity that was putting on Christmas parties for underprivileged kids, and obtained toy drive toys that she sold on eBay and flea markets and Craigslist. No parties for the kiddies at all.

What, no drugs? Baseball cards?

I wonder if kids even care about baseball cards any more, maybe electronic ones.

We are all so materialistic that we have to hunt for bargains and these kind
of people cater to it. I am glad they are caught.

People never question when a price on a new item is too good to be true.

Yup, they are right up there with the folks who abscond with the charity box from store counters.

'What do you want to bet they are also receiving public assistance?'
What makes you say that?

If they had jobs they wouldn't have time for this.
