Bellagio Hot Buttered Rum

Kitchentales was going to post this, but we arm wrestled and I won.

Serves 1
1 1/2 ounce dark rum
Hot water (enough to even)
2 full teaspoons Batter (see all ingredients below)

Batter Mix:
1/2 pound brown sugar
1/2 pound salted butter
1 teaspoon fresh ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon allspice
Pinch fresh clove
Pinch fresh ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix all the ingredients until consistent. Cover and store in the refrigerator.

To make the drink:

Grab a coffee mug and fill half way with hot water
Stir in batter (2 large teaspoons) and stir until completely disolved
Add rum and serve hot. Garnish with fresh ground cinnamon and nutmeg.

I just had a thought: this mix would be great with hot apple cider, no rum. Gonna try it right now.

I love eggnog with rum so I will have to try the recipe. Love the murano glass.

We are out of rum. I need to make a liquor store run ASAP.

Definitely from Murano, Italy, the best of the best back in those days.

It's my husband who is the 'Rum' connoisseur (usually Bacardi and Coke) but a glass of dark rum will keep him happy too
He is a bit of a 'fuss-pot', when getting him to try different things (unless he has partaken in several 'B & C's - then he will try anything) It does sound smashing, but I cannot, drink rum at all.

I'm going to dig up a hot drink recipe that doesn't use rum there's a really good one Mr. Ttales's mother used to make. Watch for it on Kitchentales.

Rum is one of my favorites, so I will definitely try it. The Belagio looks fantastic.

It's raining here for the first time this winter, as close as we're going to get to snow. I'm fixing to go make up this recipe in a minute.

Never care for rum.Not sure why.Did not get exposed to it I guess.
I was trying to figure out the ceiling there. What is the subject there.
Cannot make it out.Look like flowers to me.Tell me more about this photo.
I see two people there.Christmas tree I guess and the place looks empty?

It's the hotel lobby of the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas. The ceiling is covered with a Murano glass sculpture that is there year-round, and the Christmas trees are there for just the season. There's always a lot of people milling around waiting for something.

that sounds interesting, but I am not a big rum fan so I would probably shy away from it.

Kitchentales is going to post another recipe for a hot drink not using rum, check it out.
