"Easy come, easy go...anyway the wind blows" - J.J. Cale
I really get a kick out of some people. They get some new idea and they are all fired up about it. That is all they can talk about. Like some of the people on certain blog sites that suddenly find religion, like a flash fire, they burn hot and fast and then out. There is no foundation, no bed of coals to sustain them.
I am a believer in education and learning things for yourself. So many people look for info that supports their beliefs instead of finding out all of the info and then making an informed decision.
I am not just talking about religion. It happens everywhere...politics, news, the economy, social issues...some things are just fashionable and others are popular. Sometimes it is just the "in" thing to do or to be. Then things change and they move on to whatever is next.
If there is one thing that I am, it is consistent. Consistently strange most people think. I thought there was a huge conspiracy linking the NFL, the New England Patriots, The Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox, Mitt Romney and the Presidential Election. I had many people believing until the Giants upset the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
Anyway, there is no real point to this post. I was just listening to an old "Brother Phelps" song and I like the line so I decided to develop a post around it.
It is true though, most people go any way the wind blows. Be a rock. Don't let whatever is popular blow you around. Decide for yourself. be who and what you are.
