Awake again after midnight. I don't even own an iPod. I'm probably the only person in America who doesn't. My nephew has friends who get their daddies to buy them new ones when their favorite colors change. How fickle! But I am constantly surrounded by music and the sound of my canary singing. Who needs it? I'm tired again. I'm working on remembering to count my blessings again. I think of Anne Franck, who said "In spite of everything I still think that people are basically good, and life is beautiful..." and I feel small and petty.
