Teal mentioned that she has boxes of financial filing she has to label and store, which brings me to the latest thing to keep me occupied.
Last week I tore up my office and sorted and collated and separated files so I only have my current billing statements and paperwork now on my desk. The rest is stored away. I've been meaning to do it for years and finally couldn't stand it anymore and got it done.
I also bought two large zipper notebooks and in one, finally got all various and assorted medical reports each in its plastic sleeve and filed in the notebook. enabling me to throw away the manila envelopes I had labeled EYE STUFF where I kept records of that, and HEART STUFF where I had kept records of that, copies of lab reports (the doctor won't rewrite my prescriptions unless I go every six months and have mostly un-necessary lab work done--but they get to charge Medicare) etc.
So I filed each one in the notebook and feel so satisfied. The next time I go to any doctor I'm gonna take the notebook and say "I brought the scrapbook."
Then in the other notebook I filed away all the many pictures of ancestors and the family tree chart and all kinds of pictures and materials sent to me by cousin Pat the geanologist, my baby photos--each item in its plactic sleeve--it's a fat notebook now. I'm so so glad to have that collated.
But my office is still a mess because I have hundreds of photos--a lifetime of photos--piled up on the table in my office, piled up in a chair, piled up in a large sack on the floor--it's so overwhelming I don't know how to begin.
