The Irksome Lance Armstrong

Text to follow.

Tiger Woods is an obviously suffering man, and I feel sympathy for him.
But Lance Armstrong is irksome--he has a super ego that he seems to think makes him immune to criticism and scrutiny. Armstrong has a tenacious prideful streak, and can afford a battery of lawyers to fight doping claims. But Armstrong has been on investigator's radar for years.

An Associated press headline reads "Cycling Probe Can't Avoid Biggest Name." Agents engaged in a probe of pro cycling say that Armstrong clearly appears to be, at the least, a person of interest. Authorities have obtained records of years old doping allegations against him, and former teammate Floyd Landis has unleashed new claims about him, as have other cyclists.

I know this year, Armstrong cycled the Tour de France with some kind of injury or healing injury, and lost by a wide margin--still, I wonder, since he knew he would be under a microscope, he avoided performance enhancing drugs and that's why he lost. Just a thought.

Apparently, Lance Armstrong is a cyclist. I don't know anything about him, let alone his problems. Would rather save my vitriol for people who are harming others, for political extremists, for liars whose lies affect ours.

He won the Tour de France seven years in a row, and if he was doping to win (which is the allegation against him)then he harmed riders who did not dope but performed on their own merits. Just my opinion.

I've always wondered how Lance Armstrong managed to pass the drug tests when he was probably taking some sort of chemo drugs in the wake of his cancer. I would expect a survivor to be taking something for quite awhile after they were 'cured' just as a precaution. These drugs probably wouldn't be what they considered performance enhancers, but they could be, and/or he might have had a lot of explaining as to why they were therapeutic.

Maybe that's why he seems so impudent about having records examined--he could always say it was part of post cancer treatment?

I think that was Tiger's problem. He thought he was immune to defeat and
could do anything with impunity. So obviously does Lance Armstrong.
Who kind fathom the mind of celebrities?

You are right--maybe one reason Tiger is suffering so much is because he didn't think he could fail and doesn't know how to handle failure. So I wonder what will happen if Armstrong is brought down.
