Get Your Hand off My Eggs

I went to vote Tuesday and there were three controversial ballots to vote for: One, was the PERSONHOOD INITIATIVE, in which, had it passed, would deem an egg fertilized at conception be considered a person with all legal rights and protection. I voted against it, and so did a lot of Mississipians, and it failed. Even Bill Maher said on his show last night:
"I've never had anything positive to say about Mississippi, but hey, they got it right this time."

No surprise, men are the creatures who have hawked this idea and fervently backed it. Know what I wanna see? A ballot backed by fervent women that says any man who has fathered two children, max, must have a mandatory vasectomy. Men would cringe and hold their crotch. It's okay for men to want to dictate procreation in women, but they'd scream "leave my stuff alone."

Then was VOTER I.D. It's hard to believe anyone would be against people having to show I.D. to vote, but it had to go on the ballot before it passed, so now you'll have to show (probably a picture I. D.) to vote. About time.

Then there was IMMINENT DOMAIN. Certain businessmen liked the idea that private land could be confiscated for private purposes. But that was voted down, too, and now your land can't be grabbed. Good.

The abortion thing just freaked me out. I like your idea about fervant women
and irresponsible sperm donors who flit from girl to girl without taking
any responsibility.

Hi jeri; If men had their way, we'd all be Stepford Wives!

I believe it was designed to prevent illegals from voting

Men think they know what is best for everyone.

I am surprised you are in favor of voter I.D. because it is designed to make it more difficult for those who don't own cars (the poor and the elderly) to vote. Tennessee passed such and also refused to acknowledge the validity of university i.d. passes with photos (college kids tend to be progressive). I am dismayed this was passed. At a polling place in a small town, elders KNOWN TO THE VOTING CLERKS personally, were not allowed to vote because they did not have photo i.d.s This is not designed to prevent fraud -- it is designed to disenfranchise those who might vote against Republicans.

Hi teal; I don't know about other places, but in Mississippi voter fraud has been prevalent for years--a person could vote two or three times at different precincts--someone could vote under the name of a relative etc. and without I.D. who would know? Even in small towns, the pollworkers don't know everybody personally.
