Cleaning up my office this morning and found some CD's I had misplaced, one of them a fav, Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon." So I listened to it while doing my cleanup stuff--listening to them now as I type. Their music is poetry, profound stuff, to wit:
Picking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Picking around on a piece of ground in your hometown
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Staying home to watch the rain
When you were young and life is long
There is time to fill the day
You've missed the starting gun
No one told you when to run
And then one day you find
Ten years have got behind you....
(This only about a third of the lyrics to this song.) The entire CD has a melancholy vibe to it; so much truth in every song though--poetry put to music.
