Happy Birthday, Elvis

If Elvis were alive, he would be 74 today. Maybe he is alive. There have been lots of Elvis sightings. I once knew someone who was pretty sophisticated on the computer. She tried to prove that a guy who was in "Home Alone," was Elvis. She removed his beard, as I recall. It kind of looked like E. There's a site just for Elvis sightings, and some Elvis sites have sighting pages.

Well, that seems kind of far fetched. However, why was he not placed next to his beloved mother when they buried them at Graceland? Hmmm, that is kind of funny. Also, they ask, why is his name spelled Aaron when he always spelled it Aron. Well, the speculations are all a bit sappy like these.

Elvis was born with phenomenal talent and a lot of luck! He really didn't know how to move from one world comfortably into another. I think he was never really comfortable, although he loved being in the limelight. He loved being Elvis. But it eventually did him in.

By the way, besides being the King of Rock, don't you think he was the original greaser? Just look at his hair here:

Well, I'm off to wish him a happy birthday... on both of his sites!!

Ah, Elvis.... J's mom gets an Elvis calendar from us every year. He still lives on in her heart, as I'm sure he does in the hearts of millions of his fans.

Ted and I saw a picture of him taken when he was just starting out and he was absolutely beautiful. We have been to Graceland and I can tell you that the people who keep making pilgrimages there are insane. We laughed at his interior decorating and were nearly lynched. That is not to take away from his talent. I was in love with him for years and we still play his music.

"The Green, Green Grass of Home" That guy could make any song special--an old classic or a new one. What a beautiful voice.

What people didn't realize when Elvis burst on the scene was that he was truly talented. Unfortunately, his fame isolated him and eventually killed him. His songs will live forever, though.
