We don't subscribe to a newspaper, but a few months ago the SF Examiner started showing up. It's delivered twice a week. The papers sit out in the driveway until I pick them up. They are delivered in a plastic bag, so I have to remove that before tossing the paper in the recycle bin. We don't read it. Today's call to the paper's subscription phone number was the fourth. Each time they say they will stop the paper, but it keeps coming. Next to the phone number in the paper, they write to call the number to stop the paper if going on vacation. Apparently we can't call to tell them to, um, shove the paper completely.
I've never cared about nor ever read this newspaper. After all this hassle, I'm not going to start.
Maybe if I yell at the person on the subscriptions office phone that will get it to stop.
Unlikely.
