I talked with Dolly at her time break today, which was while we were on the way to the hotel. She says it's cold there, but didn't say what the temperature. According to the thermometer n the SUV, was 95deg F at 1800 yesterday evening on the way to dinner.
The menus at the restaurant were in English, so they must get a lot of tourists in that town, which was about a half hour away. The menu had nothing non-meat except for the "sides". I was talking with a guy a week or so ago about the number of vegetarians around and he said that there were more than I thought, and justified my point of view by menus and what I see people buy in the grocery stores (back home). The menu at that place matched that. When I asked if I could get a cheese enchilada. He waiter was surprised and asked, "Just cheese? No beef, chicken, or pork?" They don't get a lot of vegheads.
We have an SUV because there are four of us all the gear. We all fit in a van, which what we usually rent on these trips.
I took some pictures around the island yesterday with Spots. I'll post some of those later.
When we came back to the hotel, we saw that they have finished setting up their Christmas tree. It was up but bare the day before. It's so early. The grocery stores we have been in have Christmas stuff with the usual symbols, which include snow and temperate climate winter images, like snowmen, but it's 100deg F outside. I used to exchange email with a guy in New Zealand. Christmas for them is in the middle of summer, which seems really strange, but it was normal for them.
I have to leave your blog. I linger here too long, it seems.
