Good morning friends. I'm currently hiding out in my computer room, escaping the chaos of children and grandchildren rampaging downstairs.

My three daughters and their collective 3 kids spent the evening and night at my house. My sanity is barely hanging on.

The girls live far from each other (Honduras, Calif., and local), and don't get to see one another very often, or be together at one time. They're each in their thirties now and all married, one childless.

I made a big pot of vegetable soup for supper yesterday. Tossed in every thing I could get my hands on. Beets made it appear red in color, but the mixture tasted great. The two grandchildren (ages 5 & 7) didn't like it, of course, so they didn't get dessert, and left the table hungry. Grandads' rules around here. No substitutes.

These kids are totally out of control. Fortunately, I'm sorry to say, I see them only once a year. They are loud, rude, unruly, sassy, whiny, etc. etc. My own girls, however, are really neat. They get along great with each other and have a lot of fun being together. That, I enjoy watching.

Then there is my nearly 6 week old grandson. He's smiling now and quite attentive to his surroundings. His parents will do a far better job of raising him than the parents of the two "monsters".

Overall, I'm enjoying the whole clan being here for this short time. Too bad my California son opted out. By this afternoon, they'll all be gone, and peace and quiet will again return to the homestead.
