'Tis the season, and my patience is wearing thin. I know we can't all be perfect, but what do the bigwigs and fans see in some of TV's color announcers and pitch men? Thank goodness for the mute option.
When Jimmy Jackson (Big Ten Network) said "They have went...", I cringed. Fortunately, most of the time, I can't understand what he's saying. I might as well mute him.
Screaming pitchman Billy Mays is a huge turn off. Do people actually like him?
Then there's Dick Vitale--automatic mute. I haven't listened to him for 3 years. Same with John Madden and his "you know" every sentence. Bad habit. I mute Phil Simms who the execs seem to think he's a god since he does every major pro football game for CBS. I simply don't like him for a variety of reasons. Many other announcers/color men are not especially good, but I tolerate them.
I've sworn off CNN's Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper. Wolf can't complete an unread sentence without three or more "uhs". "The, uh, plane, uh, went down, uh, in, uh, the Hudson, uh, River, uh......." That drives me insane! Cooper just stutters. He's awful without a script. It's MSNBC from now on (despite irritating Chris Mathews).
I'm tolerant up to a certain point. After awhile, my nerves twitch, and my brain says "enough"! Silence is golden.
ONE MORE DAY!!!!!!!
