Zero to Busy
I've been working to fill my weekends to keep myself from feeling too lonely and making the mistake of calling Thom out of desperation. So far, I have been successful at it. I haven't called or heard from him in 3 weeks now (except the random glimpses on facebook).
I took some friends to the train station last night and lamented that I have zero plans for the weekend ahead and felt really vulnerable. This is also the weekend of the San Francisco marathon that I had to bail on. :sniff:sniff: Seven of my runner girlfriends are going. After some thought Hans and his GF called and invited me to go to San Diego with them. Since I couldn't take off today because of work and a chiropractor appt, I'm joining them tomorrow morning via Amtrak.
I'm crashing on her Mom's couch for the night and they got me a pass to Comic Con. That's right, I'm joining geek-fest 2009 and I can't wait! Panels on LOST, Dr Who, Kevin Smith, and Futurama, here I come! Plus I have several random friends who are going to be there that I'll run into.
Tonight I'm going to see one of my favorite bands perform, do a load of laundry, pack and prepare the cats to brave a weekend without me - their first in 4 weeks.
I have to head to the train station at 6am in the morning. Ouch! but it's a 3 hour trip on the train so I can catch a few zzzzz's if needed.
I have some really great friends! I'm so lucky to have so many, too!
