A Weekend of Running, Sleep & Cheese
A Weekend of Running, Sleep & Cheese
So my Saturday night was a bust due to my awesome 10 mile run with Jackie on Saturday morning. That 47 year old woman kicked my butt! It was a great run and I feel so much better prepared for my Half Marathon in 20 days.
I attempted to nap after brunch with Jackie but only managed a brief cat-nap. Alas, not with my kitty cats as they don't seem to like the smell of tiger balm. LOL
5pm rolled around and I got ready to head over to Thom's so we could have dinner and get ready for the Halloween Party that night. Thom had made his delicious baked ziti and garlic bread all of which was covered in mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Along with a glass of red wine. Yummy!
Around 9pm we got off the couch to get ready and I tried on the black dress that has been in his closet for years. It did fit but I found it to be rather boring with only ribbons on the sleeves and bust to make it less simple. I was hoping for something more sexy. While Thom showered I sat on the bed and promptly fell asleep.
He laughed at me when he came in to find me all curled up with Ben, his pitt bull. I tried to wake up but it was obvious that dinner on top of running 10 miles made me too sleepy to go out. Thom was sweet and didn't complain that we weren't going to the party. I know he wanted to go but at the same time didn't have a clue what costume he was going to wear. Not to mention he was stressing about finding parking in the Hollywood Hills on the steep mountain roads.
So we skipped the party to stay in and we slept in. He made me a veggie omelet with goat cheese in the morning with mimosas. We lounged on the couch watching random shows on Food Network and TLC. My friend Hans invited us over to catch up on episodes of True Blood. Thom worked on some of the FX on the show but neither of us have HBO. So we ordered the house favorite cheese pizza to take to Hans' girlfriend's place, the Pizza Rosa which is roma tomatoes with mozzarella, feta and parmesan. Double Yum!
So this morning I realized that all I really accomplished this weekend was to run, to sleep and to eat a lot of cheese!
LOL
A great weekend, IMO.
