One Step Backwards
... and hopefully two steps forward.
So Silas turned out to be a flake. He was again "working too much" to see me and never called again. So after being ditched for two weekends in a row I put Silas on silent.
And since The musician has constantly been in touch, I apologized for my birthday blow off and asked for a raincheck and he agreed. He seemed to think I was just drunk that night which I was earlier in the night... those margaritas were Strong! I think he was a little jealous of the twenty year olds that were hitting on me. I assure him that I don't sleep with twenty year olds, which he replied that he would. LOL
He's been busy hiring himself out as a hired gun, I mean guitarist. He's had to learn over 100 songs in the last couple weeks so his time has been limited but at least he's been texting and calling so I don't feel put off. He made plans with me for Sunday night back on Wednesday. And I was worried after Silas that I would be blown off again... afterall I had already blown off The musician for Silas.
But to his word he drove across town, got stuck in accident traffic, almost ran out of gas, rolled into a gas station on fumes, then locked his keys in his car when he arrived in my neighborhood. But he didn't stand me up and he didn't turn around.
After waiting for the locksmith (I went out to wait with him and brought him a sock hat and sweatshirt because it's been chilly in LA), we enjoyed wine, brie and crackers over an episode of Lost and we geek talked about Lost and Joss Whedon shows. He didn't stay over as he had more rehearsing to do but before he left he had ranked the night 8 out of 10 and admitted that he was beginning to think he was impotent before meeting me. Which would explain why he was willing to give me a second chance.
That's right, I'm a sex goddess! LOL. Just Kidding.
It's so nice to have him as an option, but I need more than he can give me. He's not my soul mate or even someone I could see spending the rest of my life with. But honestly, this thirty-seven year old can't keep waitin' around for perfection, so he's my Mr Right Now.
And I hear rumors that it's easier to meet someone special when you are already with someone. Maybe this is true which is why I'm hoping this step back will lead to two steps forward. Either way, The musician knows where he stands with me. We've already talked about how I believe I'm going to find that certain someone, whereas he doesn't think it'll ever happen for him.
