I've got my new running shoes, dug out a pair of sporty shorts with a pocket and I'm ready to run.
I trained with Radar on Saturday and this morning in our new running shoes and I'm so proud of him for taking this on. I think I'm pretty crazy and he just gave up smoking - again. More power to him!
I've put out the word that I'm looking for donations for my charity run to my family, friends and co-workers. I've already met my minimum donation requirement and I'm hoping to far exceed it before August 2nd. It feels really good knowing that I'm not just doing this 10K for me. But trust me, that by itself is reward enough to keep me going.
I ran last night in a park near my work and did two and a half loops. My pedometer read 1.5 miles which made me feel a little deflated. I was suspicious that my pedometer cannot measure my running pace so I google'd local parks and found a cool website that has distances for all the LA parks. Turns out that it was a 0.9 mile loop... so I actually ran 2.25 miles last night before I was sucking wind!
Now that I have proper running shoes, time enough to train, and donations, I just need a good set of earphones that won't fall off my tiny ears!
LOL
