I'll try not to bore y'all with a lot of details about running, fueling, expos, finish lines, etc. But I had a fantastic race, ran the whole 13.1 miles, and finished 2 minutes and 51 seconds faster than my first Half marathon in December.
Final official time of 2h 16m 31s!
Happy to report that I ran my last full mile faster than each of the 12 before it. I found my second wind around mile 10 and that last mile had a lot more spectators cheering us on. About a half mile from the finish a random girl on the side line was cheering people on and she singled me out (likely cause I ended up wearing the charity shirt or she was doing it to every other runner), pointed at me and gave me a big, "Whaooooooho!" which was very empowering.
I crossed the finish line with my arms out, I know, totally cheesy, but this is coming from the girl in the tube socks, pig tails and a brand new running skirt. Cheesy is in my nature.
Can't wait to see the professional photos from the race.
Here's one of Jackie and I taken by Angie's husband who was on a bike in the median around mile 8:
