Vietnam Vet "69-70"

Life & Events > Howdy,

Howdy,

Well today was my two week follow up visit to the eye doc, and it has been a rough two weeks.

The first operation was bad, that is where they did all kinds of stuff to my eye, The second operation was not that bad, so I figured the third would be about the same.

WRONG!

The third operation was complex, he went in after the scar tissue from a number of different points, and I have been feeling it for two weeks now. They whole eye socket is tender and sore, the eye was all bloodshot from the procedure.

So today he looks the eye over and says that it is 100% re attached, but, the pressure in the eye is high, causing the cornea to be blurry. Thats why my vision was better before operation #3 than it is now. I have a new Rx for eye drops that will take care of that he says. I have a follow up in three weeks. There was no mention of scar tissue and I didn't ask. If there were some scar tissue he would have said so, he is pretty straight forward about this whole thing.

I have been staying off the computer as much as possible, eight hours a night at work is enough, plus I have been kind of bummed out about the whole eye thing anyway. I think of all the senses we have, sight is the most important, I think I could deal without hearing, or speech, but to loose vision would really be tough.

Bob, I'm sorry you have to go through such trials. You are doing well, I know. However, I also know that you do need to save your eyes so you can't be on so often. It would help if the default font size was bigger. At least the font size in the replies is big enough (when I remember to click on them). I almost always forget and then end up reading the tiny print! Good luck and take care....
