Day After the Operation
Day After the Operation
Monday was the second eye operation, and today was the follow up visit.
The doc said things went well, (again) that there was lots of scar tissue that he didn't get the first time.
This operation he went in through the lens, or the front of the eye, opposed to the side last time, taking out lots of scar tissue.
He looked it over and said it was attached real nice, and that it looked good. The last time they put in a Gas bubble that was to hold the retina up in place, and after two weeks it would have gone away. But the retina didn't stay because of the scar tissue. This time they used a oil bubble. The oil bubble stays in the eye till they go back and remove it, that means there is another surgery in my future. Also seeing how they went in through the lens, the lens had to be removed and a new one will be put in later, probably when the oil is removed.
So I now have a eye full of oil, no lens, and still can't see too much. I can make out shapes, and bright lights like a cars break lights, so I guess thats a start. I have another follow up next weds. on the 12th, to see how it is going, so it is a waiting game now. He said make sure not to bump my head, or jar or shake it too much so things can heal.
