Back to Work Surprise

I returned to work Thursday after being off for over two weeks because of the eye surgery, and I received a little surprise! No it wasn't a welcome back party, to tell you the truth, there is no love lost between myself and most of my co-workers. There are some good people and I would say maybe two bosses that are good to work with.

No I came in and there was a new addition on my desktop section of my cube. Yes I work in a cube, there are four computer stations in each one. On our shift there are three that are used.

So what did I find when I came to work? Was it a new company coffee cup? Some little trinket like a pen or some other waste of money they like to give out like they are gold nuggets? Nope!

In each work station we have a 21 inch monitor that we work on, well, they took mine and the other three out in our cube, and our cube alone, and replaced it with Twin 20 inch flat panel monitors!

What was the reason for this? Two screens so we can do more work? Well it's something like that. They gave our cube workers some new duties and a new program to monitor and instead of having all our windows or sessions open on one screen overlaying each other, they gave us two so we could spread them out.

This is what it looks like with all the sessions launched and running.
What a pain in the,,, eye! I noticed the eye socket was hurting some the last two days and I figured it out. I am shifting my eyes to check the other screen all night and that is causing some pain in the eye that they operated on. I guess the eye will loosen up with time.

There is a guy at work that I have know for over 30 years, he is one of my bosses, and I like to call him my "Good Boss", His name is Bill, here he is below.

Gosh they could have saved themselves some money and gotten you a new coffee cup! Better for all involved, don't you think? See, I'm only using one eye! But, then I guess you're really using both, aren't you?
