An early major snowstorm that covered most of Europe has shut down airports and even Europe's bullet trains were struggling.
The storm, accompanied by bitterly cold temperatures, left many without power and stranded in their homes. In the aftermath, scores of people have died.

My Sooners have once more landed on their feet after losing to Missouri and Texas A & M during the regular season. The guys in crimson and cream redeemed themselves last Friday night by beating their cross-state rival, OSU, in a wild game that lived up to its "bedlam" nickname.  It took two miracle touchdowns within a ninety second span late in the fourth quarter to finally put away the pesky Cowboys 41-35.  The win set up a three-way tie in the Big 12 South between the Sooners, the Cowboys, and the Aggies of A & M.Â
The Aggies had three regular-season losses, while the Cowboys and Sooners finished 10-2. By virtue of a higher BCS ranking, the Sooners got the nod to play Nebraska, winner of the Big 12 North, in the championship game Saturday night in Arlington in Jimmy Jones' new super-stadium.
Speaking of the game, tomorrow just happens to be the birthday of Kenna's boyfriend and Big Sis, who turns 13.Â
Kenna got tickets to the game as a birthday gift for M, so they will be here tomorrow afternoon to spend some family time before the game Saturday night. She said M is so excited he can hardly wait.
As for Big Sis, we will have a family celebration Saturday; then she will have a party with friends a little later.
These thirteen years have gone by so fast. It just seems like yesterday that I met her for the first time that December morning.
