Sorry about that! I'm two days late with my Friday report because I was otherwise occupied on Friday with a precocious eight-year-old who spent the afternoon and night with me.I picked her up from school because Mom was taking a tennis lesson and Dad was filming her...such devotion, those two....we went to her home to get her clothes; then we came to my house where she promptly took over my computer.
She loves to sleep on my hide-a-bed, which is only slightly more comfortable than my hardwood floors. When Mom and Dad came to pick her up yesterday, she begged to spend another night. However, we were all worried about the storms, and I knew she would be scared if they got bad, so we compromised on another night next weekend.
I must admit, though, when she hugs my neck and tells me I'm the best grandma EVER, it's hard for me to say "NO" to anything she wants.
Things have been quiet, thank goodness, in Dallas. We had our tornadoes last weekend. So, far, all we have got from this round is rain. I hope it stays that way.Â
Others haven't been so lucky. So sad about the deaths, the injuries, and the destruction.  Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers as well as the families here in the DFW metro who lost their homes.
The big news coming out of Washington this weekend is the immediate recall from Colombia of the eleven secret service agents who allegedly brought prostitutes to their hotel rooms. They were part of the advance team for President Obama's summit trip, though not assigned directly to the President.
How dumb and stupid could these guys be? Prostitution is legal in Colombia, so when one or several??? failed to pay "for services rendered", at least one prostitute went to the police to report that the secret service hadn't paid her. Personally, I love it! If it's true and all indications point to that being the case, the lowlifes got just what they deserved. Â
I feel for their wives, their sweethearts, and their children, however, who will suffer immeasurably from this as well. The men's careers will be over, since the Secret Service has a policy of "zero tolerance" in morality issues; marriages will be ruined, hearts will be broken, and children will be damaged. They will, of course, claim that "it didn't mean anything"; but it will mean "everything" to those whose world will never be the same.

The first look at Angie's engagement ring, which Brad and a jeweler in Beverly Hills spent a year designing just for her. It is an emerald cut, which according to the jeweler, is from a flawless diamond estimated to be between 12 and 16 carets.
On to brighter news...after seven years and six children, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are FINALLY officially engaged. Wonder how LONG the engagement will last? Given the fact that the "courtship" lasted seven years, if the wedding date takes that long or longer, Brad will be pushing sixty or beyond.  If I were Angie, I would be getting that man to the altar!  Do you suppose she will reward him for that huge rock with another child? Wouldn't surprise me in the least!

That's it for this week from Dallas.
