The Dallas World Aquarium is the best-kept secret in Dallas. It houses some of the most dangerous and exotic underwater life from all over the world. Since Dallas doesn't have easy access to water, it brings the ocean to them. And when Texas says they are going to do something they go to the extreme. They made it big, exotic and made it a habitat for endangered species.
The Dallas World Aquarium is an aquarium and zoo located in West End Historic District of downtown Dallas , Texas , USA . The zoo aids conservation and education by housing many animals that are threatened or endangered as part of a cooperative breeding program with other zoos around the world.
The lower level houses aquariums featuring fish, sea anemones , coral , jellyfish , and other sea animals from around the world. The 10 main tanks feature the aquatic life of Japan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, British Columbia, the Bahamas, Fiji, Palau, Southern Australia, Lord Howe Island, and the Solomon Islands. Other tanks on display include a large tank with a 40-foot (12Â m) tunnel where visitors can observe fish of the continental shelf swimming around them.

The coral and plant life are truly spectacular inside the aquarium tanks, all of it from the continental shelf.Â
You will see underwater plant life from three different oceans, some of which you will not find in any other aquarium in the United States.
When you have exhausted yourself on the first level, the second and third levels are even more spectacular...The upper level of the aquarium is an artificial reproduction of the Orinoco Rainforest . The rainforest is an aviary , with birds such as scarlet ibis and toucans flying freely.
As you wind your way through the rainforest , you see the only public display of three-toed sloths in the United States , plus animals such as electric eels , caecilians , tamarins , poison dart frogs ,orinoco crocodiles , and vampire bats .
Once
again, the people at the acquarium have put the visitor inside the experience. You will wind your way up and down through the middle of the beautiful natural habitat, often so close to the exotic animals that you can reach out and touch them. Notice how the walkway in the top center of the picture drops down to the level of the rain forest.
Here you will find exotic birds whose natural habitat is the Orinoco Rainforest, all truly in their natural environment. Dense rainforests fill most of Venezuela south of the Orinoco River and west of the Gran Sabana River.
Sunning on the rocks one can spot the vicious crocs so common in the rivers that cut through the rainforests and inhabit southern Australia..
Colorful bird life of every variety live in harmony here in this incomparable mini rainforest.
