I had long ago forgotten what quiet peace was like. Riddled by voices only I was privy too and the constant noise of others who made no sense to me, I could not rest.

Strange, how her illness comforted me. Another soul trapped and fighting, I was glad she was there.
We fought on a couple of occasions. Both lasted only seconds but left marks. She was, and still is, very sick, a mere vessel, carrying out the will of an unseen intruder. I saw her without it once or twice, but never for very long. Once stripped naked, just as a baby, she could not survive. She had no choice but to succumb.
"Hey girl, you want to get high?" she said
What? I could see she had some white powder under her nose. Your kidding right?
"C'mon, shhh." Following her down the freshly buffed corridor I couldn't help but start laughing.
"Shhhh, I don't want to get busted." Her seriousness only made me want to laugh louder.
"In here, watch the door."
Well I didn't, I was too busy watching her pour out a "line" of Tide and snort it!
"Man, your going to kill yourself, that's not coke. Isn't your nose on fire"?
She just laughed and laughed, obviously forgetting about being quiet. I started laughing again too, shit she looked so funny snorting laundry soap and snubbing the end of her nose.
"Whats going on in here!" Staffer John said.
"Want a line?" she asked him.
