for the middle class... what exactly, does this mean?
Today, I am reflecting on the "career" fair yesterday, thinking that there is something terribly wrong. Most booths were schools promoting a curriculum that guarantees placement once graduation is achieved.
Healthcare jobs are recession-proof, evidently.
Example: DeVry University had the longest line. Lesser known indie schools were promoting their specialties.
It's disheartening to realize that even with 2 skill sets, I remain unemployed.
Employment agencies and corporations provide seemingly empty positions b/c they fulfill every position internally first.
To qualify for anything, one has to take competency tests and wait. If you don't get a call, the deduction is that you aren't worth hiring.
Unless you "know" someone in a corporation, you won't get in.
On the other hand, I just landed a lucrative job. An artist wants me to design packaging for a new product.
