Play Ugly

I read this on a blogsite today:
Art shouldn't have to be all pretty and cute. On bad days I make ugly doodles. And on some days I feel like skulls and skeletons, death and disaster.
Why not bring out your journal and paint a page black? Or write other words than play, create, smile.
Write about death, rage, and panic attacks. Write about your fears, your troubles, your pain, your loss.
I use my diary to write everything and sometimes my pages are unreadable, but still, I'm glad I made them.
I hope you're not making your art pretty because you don't know ugly.
Ugly needs to come out and play too, even though Ugly is an ugly play mate.
Ugly will pinch your chin, laugh in your face and smirk when you try to hide.
But once you let ugly into your art journal, you'll maybe end up with something else inside your head! Try it!

Reminds me of the saying: Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes clear to the bone.

The only ugliness is self-importance and ego. Everything,... black, white or colorful,... pretty or not, is beauty.
How ya doing on the drum gig?

she might have issues, but one of the first things you learn in therapy is to journal. You get all the anger or hurt or just plain dissatisfaction out on paper, and in doing so you purge all the negativity from your self. So Hannah may be troubled, but her way of dealing with it, by letting it out in her art and her writing, is one the the healthiest ways to do it. I just hope she lets some sunshine and flowers in to take it's place.

Perhaps Hanna from Sweden is more right than most of us want to believe!
How well I do agree with her, there is much more UGLY, NASTY, MEAN, and HATEFULL in life than there is "sunshine and flowers." The difference is how we perceive all of the "bad" to have control over our life and daily actions and activities. We are what nwe believe we are, or what we can be!

I agree with Lynnie. I think this girl/woman needs some help. She seems to be dwelling too much on "the other side of midnight." I hope someone close to her intervenes. She strikes me as a suicide candidate.

This post has bothered me because i'm a 'mom'. Something about this persons post is crying for help. Where did you read it? It obviously has some un-earthed story behind it. Hannah needs help
