3 more women joined our taiko class. Our 'original' class (8 of us) which began in June has progressed well into the 2nd of 3 very l-o-n-g songs.
Our sensei is somewhat overwhelmed and he let them into our session last night which slowed us down quite a bit.
I can't help but wonder if he's going to keep allowing people to join despite the fact that beginning class started in June!
We didn't learn any new measures b/c he was trying to get them to learn the basic rudiment of the 2nd song, which took up most of the time.
I wasn't the only one feeling weird about this. My other classmates were giving me the look too but none of us said anything.
We have one more song to learn before graduating to intermediate level. To give you an idea of the process, it took us over a month to learn ONE song. This 2nd song is twice as hard b/c of the complexity in timing changes.
It's September which means we should be starting the 3rd song in a week. Now we can't help but wonder if it'll be later b/c of the newbies.
Am trying to stay positive here, but should we say something if he keeps letting people in?
Hm. Maybe I should go look for that fart cassette.
