For the past 2 wks, my Mac's been down. After being at the Apple Store with the diagnosis: we've never seen error messages like this before... I didn't have much hope.
When one takes their Mac to the "Genius Bar" at the store, it would seem that one of them would solve the problem.
So finally, yesterday, one genius supposed the following solution: sometimes when installing a new operating system, it doesn't "catch" everything in the previous system.
I took it home, went through a series of applications, re-installed my new Leopard OS, and voila!
Meantime, the anxiety of not having access to my Mac email gave way to the realization that my tie to technology is like a kind of lifeline... somewhat disturbing.
The inconvenience of going to the library to access my email or rely on Mr. November's unreliable pc only exacerbated my technological woes.
Like a kid on Christmas morning, my happiness level truly was glee when the images on my Mac monitor appeared within seconds!
Thoughts of HAL rather than visions of sugarplums were dancing in my head. But hey. I'm back.
