Our neighbor (Kathie) and her friend had us over for a lovely dinner last night.
2" thick sirloins, baked potatoes, salad, and great red wines made the dinner fare. Dessert was Haagen Dazs lemon sorbet (we brought) w/raspberries - and later on, Grappa Sassacaia.
She's a travel agent and has been all over the world, and many of her clients give her great wines and liqueurs, which she has generously shared w/us.
I've only tasted 3 different Grappas, but this went down the smoothest, i.e., (without me wincing).
Her friend, Jeff, is a realtor and knows all about this area. He owns several properties in South Pasadena and is very busy with upkeep. He use to be her landlord until she moved here.
Our apartment complex use to be a "luxury" facility, but newer structures have been built all around us. The style is mid-century modern and all of the units have fireplaces. Ours is the largest unit with a front-facing balcony, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths.
We've had a few Open Houses here to celebrate our moving in, my graduation, and the selling of my greeting cards. Lots of people who live here love our unit.
We've got great neighbors.
