That;s my motto - Keep agoing. We all have thorns in our Rose Garden at times, no roses without them.
I consider myself a "refined cultured Southern Lady, but will admit I never learned to make biscuits like my mother. My first ones were so little and round and hard that my father just dropped one on the floor and it bounced like a hockey putt. That brought on tears from me and I will never forget it.
I like my biscuits brown and about 1/4 inch high, so my kind suited me. The cook at my house doesn't make them (I am the cook and we eat a lot of whole grain breads that are warmed. I am gaining a few pounds also.
Just want to say, I didn't see myself in the first video - maybe the one who fell down the slide.
Love your sweater. It should just fit me. Hint!!! Tv is a good baby sitter. That is good and bad. It helps them pass their time, but limits the time they could learn and spend with grandparents. I always read to my children and did some with my older grandchildren. Spent time yesterday bonding with my newest baby - 5 days - old. He is a darling, but slept the whole time. The little darling was passed from one person to another and never woke up. Know parents didn't get any sleep last night.
Have a happy week end. Nena H
Can't believe it is so cold there. Today, we had to use the AC to cool the house down. Good luck and best wishes on your new home.
Have to cast my vote with Schiff. Nena
The kids step-mom can only bother you -----if you let her. Just cast her out and enjoy your time with kids. LOve you, nena
Look under the dessert table for me. Nena
As I am from the "good ole age" generation, I blush now when I remember the drinking fountains for whites only, and way way down a dark hall you might find a blacks only. My black friends tell me that they had a hard time finding a bath room down town in those days. The stores wanted their money, but guess that was all. I honestly believe I am color blind now. As our dear "black" maid once said "There are niggers in every color." And I hurt when I typed "that" word. God forgive us all for our biases and weaknessses" Nenah
Amen !!! GreatMartin.
This "southern lady" doesn't use "bad words" but I did say "I have busted my butt." Sorry Sometimes I am mortified at what the Younger generation speaks these days. Don't know if I am a prude or just lost in an older generation. Enjoy your blogs Grumps and really don't see that you are Grumpy.
Thank you dear Anniel. You are a sweet person. Oh, yes , my son just called and said I had another little great grandson. NenaH
I don't think any of us will forget that awful day. I was especially humiliated since he was in Texas. I had a new job and sat in my office stunned. Nenah
When my children were young - 7 to 11 - I bought a hen instead of turkey as our family was small. MY oldest came in from school the first day after the holidays were over and announced that he couldn't hold his head up at school. When I asked why, he said he was the only one in his class that didn't have turkey. From then on, Mom bought a turkey. Nena h
Congrats!! Why don't you wan t to be a manager? More money!! Of course, more pain if those under you don't perform. Ha!! Way back in the olden days - I got a 5 cent raise once. My husband told me to go back and tell them I didn't want it. I said no, it would buy coffee. Ha!!
