I went Friday for my first job interview with Sears. I was scheduled for an interview at 1:30. Well guess what, I got there right on time and I sat there with three other people waiting to get interviewed. 5 minutes go by.........10 minutes........15 minutes......30 minutes...... NO INTERVIEW..... (May I point out that the managers have walked by us over 15 times, not saying hello or anything. They didn't even acknowledge us!) So finally after about an Hour or so, some lady who isn't even a manager comes to us asking who we were waiting for. When she got to me I was like "I was scheduled for an interview at 1:30". She said okay, got my name and left for a few minutes, came back and said "Mr. XXX is out sick. I'm afraid you'll have to reschedule" What a waste of time. So Unorganized. So Unprofessional. So RUDE! I said thank you and left! I was pissed off I had to waste all that time WALKING 1 1/2 MILES to a Bus Stop in the hot sun FOR NOTHING!
That was Friday, it is now Sunday and I've decided to stick to babysitting until I find something better. I enjoy it and I make decent enough money at it. I'll design some flyers to put up at our local grocery store advertising my abilities and experience - hopefully someone will show interest and call.
I still haven't heard back from any of the other places I've applied to. This is really frustrating. I want to work! I'm not a lazy person who only says she wants to work -- I really do. There are a lot of kids my age (and college-age) looking for work this summer, so the competition is high. I'll keep trying though. I know the economy is rough. I need to be more patient.
