My Teen Life As I Know It

Bamboozled

Yesterday I went to see some of my favorite bands: All Time Low, Boys Like Girls, LMFAO, and Third Eye Blind. It
was a ton of fun.  I fainted [heat, loud music, smoke, inability
to breathe], was grinded on (I guess that's what you get), kind of
kicked a couple of the obnoxious guys in the groin so they'd back off, got elbowed once in the
face by crowd surfers, squished up against people and
hot, sweaty, and generally disgusting (as in, I took 3 showers and
shampoo'd my hair 6 times.  But it was great.  Especially because I didn't
know All TIme Low was opening and for the past month, they've been like
my favorite band.  I got really excited.

Seeing that this was my first real concert,  I'm not sure
what to make of it.  It was awesome during Boys Like Girls and I actually
had personal space but then people started to violently push toward the
front and it just made it awful.  A ton of people left because of it.
Then during The Third Eye Blind set , it was just torture.  These guys behind my friends and I
were obnoxious and were sweaty.  My entire t-shirt was soaked because they were so close to us.  I knew
most of the Third Eye Blind songs but I've heard like five of the LMFAO songs
before last night so it was just kind of like "oh." I'm pretty sure the lead singer of LMFAO was high on something by the strange way he was acting. It wasn't cool.

Then we drove to Culver's but they closed at 10 and it was 10:13.  Went
to McDonalds and we all got McFlurries- nice end to the night. My ears are still a buzzin'!This is a picture I took of Third Eye Blind's singer. It's a pretty cool pic, I think.

I have good memories of the concerts I went to in the 1970s, but actually enjoying the music was secondary to all the other stuff going on, as you have found.

I could not handle that because I am to claustropobic. Glad you enjoyed it, tho.

I did enjoy it. But next time, I'm definitely going to a different venue. This place really had too large a crowd. Still had fun though!

Thankfullu, I've been able to avoid attending any rock concerts. Are there no seats at these venues? The last time I got trapped in a crowd was at Vancouver's Celebration of Light. Scary stuff.

They had seats only in the VIP area on the balcony, but those were really expensive. The venue was a really old dance hall from the 50's.
