Time to Get Moving Again

I miss moving around and doing things! My hip is improving slightly but not enough for me to feel like we can go anywhere special. We've gone shopping a few times, but after less than an hour of pushing a cart, the old hip says 'enough'. Time to go home.

This is sad because I've waited for Hubby to be here before going anywhere remotely interesting, wanting to save it for when we could do it together. He's done the same when he's been here alone. There are a lot of places to see in this area and we were really looking forward to exploring them. Here we sit.

Soooo, I bought a recumbent exercise bicycle (which I still need to assemble). I know that moving your joints is really important, and not just for people with joint problems. Being sedentary is actually one of the most dangerous health risks a person can have. I thought that if I just took it easy for a couple of weeks I'd go back to where I used to be, physically, but that hasn't proven to be so. I'm adding this to my efforts. We shall see.

I'm just so grateful to have found a way of eating that would enable me to eat a lot and still lose weight despite being almost completely inactive. It hasn't been difficult or complicated at all! At least, I don't think so. Pretty amazing!

Well, I'd best be going now. Gotta assemble that bicycle!

Good upon ya Maggie you have the right attitude--- thought of an excersize bike once but bought a walker with a seat instead , and went for walks more often , take it with us when we travel, hope the bike works for you as the walker does me , dont have to use it much now must be the excersize

That's great that you don't need it much anymore! Must have worked! Whatever we have to do to get moving, we should do, huh!

Good for you Maggie. Did you see that l0l year old exercising on the
news, She had a recumbent bike also.

I was told that spinning is very good for hips and knee

I've heard that too. It's recommended as physical therapy before or after surgery as well.
